Podgorica

Podgorica (formerly Titograd) is the capital of Montenegro, it has a population of 130,000. In Podgorica there are several theatres, university and libraries.

history In 1326 Podgorica has been mentioned for the first time. It became part of Serbia and Venice. 1466-1878 it was part of the Ottoman Empire, later of Montenegro. In 1918 it became part of Yugoslavia. Since 1946 it is capital of Montenegro.
