Pele (Goddess)

Redirected from Pele Goddess

In Polynesian mythology (specifically: Hawaii), Pele is a goddess of fire, lightning, volcanoes and violence, a daughter of Haumea and Kane Milohai. She lives on Kilauea[?].

Her father exiled her (from her homeland, Honua-Mea[?] in Tahiti) because of her temper and she visited many islands but could not choose to live on. Eventually, she chose Hawaii.
