Pamela Stephenson

Born on the 4 December 1949 in Takapuna, Auckland, New Zealand, she is now married to Billy Connolly (in Fiji on 20 December 1989), and has since gained a doctorate in Psychology. Her full title is thus now 'Dr Pamela Stephenson Connolly'.

She has featured in many television series', most notably the classic 1980s Britcom Not the Nine O'Clock News, alongside Rowan Atkinson. It was on this programme that she met Billy Connolly, after spoof-interviewing him in the guise of Janet Street-Porter[?]. Her personal career as a comedienne, added to the success of Not the Nine O'Clock News let to a collaboration with comedic/satirist writers Mark Lepine[?] and Mike Leigh[?] - which spawned a book How to be Complete Bitch, and also a board game of the same name. (The companion book and game How to be a Complete Bastard was also by Leigh and Lepine, with Adrian Edmondson[?]).

She has also featured in such films as Superman III[?], Bloodbath at the House of Death[?] and Mel Brooks' History of the World Part 1[?].

She has also recorded several singles, including Unusual Treatment and Italian Shoes. Also, I Like Truckin', The Ayatollah Song, Oh Bosanquet[?], and (probably) Typing Pool as 'Pam and the Paperclips', all (including the latter?) Not the Nine O'Clock News tie-ins.

She achieved a doctorate in Psychology, which proved useful when she wrote a biography of her husband Billy, in which she analysed her famous Scottish husband.
