The 
Baitou Mountain or 
Baitoushan (白頭山 in 
pinyin: bai2 tou2 shan1, literal meaning: "White-Headed Mountain"), known as 
Paektu-san in 
Korean, is the highest peak of the 
Changbai Mountains (2,744 m) and marks the border between 
China and 
North Korea. It is the highest mountain of the 
Korean peninsula. A lake called Tianchi (天池; 
Heavenly Lake) lies on the top of it.
