A prion is a petrel (genus Pachyptila) found in Antarctica and nearby islands. Prions grow 20-27 cm long, and have blue-grey plumage[?] with white underparts. The flattened bill has a fringe of strainers. Prions feed on small invertebrates from the sea.

Antarctic prion and Salvin’s prion are usually considered to be races of Broad-billed prion.
