Oxford Classical Dictionary

The Oxford Classical Dictionary (OCD) is a standard one-volume encyclopedia of everything relating to ancient Greece and Rome.

It was first published in 1949. A second edition followed in 1969(?), and a third edition (2002) was edited by Simon Hornblower[?] and Antony Spawforth[?]. It is also available on CD-ROM.

The OCDs 6,000 articles cover everything from daily life, to geography, to religion, to historical figures, important and obscure. The content is impeccably authoritative, and includes comprehensive references to sources and recent scholarly publications.
