The Osmanli Tribe was a turkish tribe in western Anatolia that existed by that name a short period in the 14th century. Before the 1330s it was known as the Söğüt tribe and in 1383 it became the Ottoman Empire. Orhan I renamed the Söğüt tribe Osmanli in honour of his father Osman who made the tribe supreme among the turkish tribes in Anatolia.
