OSDN

The Open Source Developers Network or OSDN is a site hosted by VA Linux[?] dedicated to the Open Source Initiative. It is an attempt to bring together a crital mass of talent to create software that conforms to the GNU license model promoted by the Free Software Foundation.

Sites hosted:

FRESHMEAT (http://www.freshmeat.net)
GEOCRAWLER (http://www.geocrawler.com/)
LINUX.COM (http://www.linux.com/)
LINUXGRAM (http://www.linuxgram.com/)
NEWSFORGE (http://www.newsforge.com/)
SLASHCODE (http://www.slashcode.com/)
SLASHDOT (http://www.slashdot.com/)
SOURCEFORGE (http://sourceforge.net/)
THEMES.ORG (http://www.themes.org/)
THINKGEEK (http://www.thinkgeek.com/)

OSDN dropped kuro5hin.org sometime in late 2001/early 2002 because the subject matter of the kuro5hin.org news site had become increasingly less about nerd stuff and increasingly more about politics, philosophy, the workplace, and other 'liberal arts fluff' that many engineers dislike.
