Oelde

Oelde is a town in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is located in the district of Warendorf, near Beckum[?]. Population: 29,300.

Records from the 9th century show that there was a settlement named "Ulidi".

Oelde acquired a castle in the 14th century. It became a town in 1800.

Main industries: metal and wood, book and newspaper publishing.

It has a nursing college.
