Norwegian national football team

The Norwegian national football team has as their proudest achievement from international football a third place in the 1936 Olympics beating the hosts Germany in the third place final. Norway have also participated three times in the World Cup in 1938, 1994 and 1998. Norway had their most succesful period from 1990 to 1998 under the legend coach Egil Roger Olsen[?] called Drillo because of his dribling skills as a player. He startet his training career with Norway with a 6-1 home victory against Camerun 10/31 in 1990 and ended it 06/27 in 1998 after a 0-1 defeat against Italy in the second stage of the World Cup. The former U21 coach Nils Johan Semb[?] replaced him after the planed retirement, but has not managed to achive the same results as Olsen.

Some of Norways best single results are: Norway-Brasil 2-1 06/23 in the 1998 World Cup group stage. Norway-Brasil 4-2 05/30 in 1997.
