Northeim (district)

Northeim is a Kreis (district) in the southeastern part of Lower Saxony, Germany. It is located in the Weserbergland[?] mountains. Area 1266 km², population 150,100 (2001). The capital of the district is Northeim[?].

The Weser forms the western border of the district. Another river, the Leine, runs through the district from south to north. It is joined by the Rhume river, which flows through the town of Northeim before entering the Leine.

Towns in the district: Northeim[?], Bad Gandersheim[?], Einbeck[?], Dassel[?], Moringen[?], Hardegsen[?], Uslar[?].
