Noord River

The Noord ("North") is a stretch of river in South Holland in the Netherlands. It flows northwest from the city of Dordrecht where the Beneden Merwede river forks into the Oude Maas and the Noord. It joins the Lek at the city of Ridderkerk and Kinderdijk and flows into the Nieuwe Maas. The distance is about 9km.

The river is tidal.

Connection between IJsselmonde island on the west and the Alblasserwaard[?] mainland on the east:

  • "Brug over de Noord" bridge (motor vehicles, cyclists)
  • Noord Tunnel (motor vehicles)
