Netscape Communications Corporation

Netscape Communications Corporation was the publisher of the Netscape Navigator browser. It was renamed from the Mosaic Communications Corporation, founded by Marc Andreessen[?] and Jim Clark. It had a successful IPO on August 9, 1995, started the Mozilla project in January 1998, and became part of AOL in November 1998. Today, AOL is owned by AOL Time Warner.
