Music of Greece

Though Greek music is thousands of years old and is better documented than most other traditions, international fame has focused primarily on a form called rembetiko[?].

Rembetiko is the music of the rembetes[?], a group of itinerant, drug-using, violent men and women who played the bouzouki and gradually invented a pop form called laiki[?] that found some mainstream success.
