Mourning Becomes Electra

Mourning Becomes Electra is a play by Eugene O'Neill. It tells the story of a poisonous, incestuous family that is based on the Greek myth of Orestes.

In 1947, the play was made into a movie starring Rosalind Russell, Michael Redgrave, Raymond Massey, Katina Paxinou, Leo Genn[?] and Kirk Douglas. It was adapted and directed by Dudley Nichols[?].

The movie was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Michael Redgrave) and Best Actress in a Leading Role.
