Montreux

Montreux, is a resort town in west Switzerland, on Lake Geneva; population about 20,000.

Montreux holds several noteworthy festivals:

It is home to Canadian singing star Shania Twain and American opera soprano, Barbara Hendricks[?].

Montreux is mentioned by Ian Gillon of the band Deep Purple in his seminal classic rock[?] song "Smoke on the Water."

"We all came out to Montreux on the Lake Geneva shoreline
To make records with a mobile - We didn't have much time
Frank Zappa & the Mothers were at the best place around
But some stupid with a flare gun burned the place to the ground

Smoke on the water - A fire in the sky
Smoke on the water" and so forth.
