Mokuleia is a town located in Honolulu County, Hawaii. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 1,839.

Geography Mokuleia is located at 21°34'57" North, 158°10'31" West (21.582523, -158.175141)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 13.2 km² (5.1 mi²). 5.2 km² (2.0 mi²) of it is land and 8.1 km² (3.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 60.98% water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 1,839 people, 709 households, and 384 families residing in the town. The population density is 356.8/km² (923.2/mi²). There are 883 housing units at an average density of 171.3/km² (443.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 57.21% White, 1.47% African American, 0.27% Native American, 11.36% Asian, 5.60% Pacific Islander, 0.60% from other races, and 23.49% from two or more races. 7.29% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 709 households out of which 25.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 37.8% are married couples living together, 11.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 45.7% are non-families. 31.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 2.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.38 and the average family size is 3.04.

In the town the population is spread out with 21.5% under the age of 18, 16.1% from 18 to 24, 36.1% from 25 to 44, 20.3% from 45 to 64, and 6.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 30 years. For every 100 females there are 134.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 139.7 males.

The median income for a household in the town is $50,100, and the median income for a family is $57,917. Males have a median income of $36,458 versus $27,317 for females. The per capita income for the town is $24,643. 10.7% of the population and 10.5% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 15.1% are under the age of 18 and 7.8% are 65 or older.
