Mixing console

A mixing console or mixing desk is an electronic device for combining (mixing), routing, changing the level, and changing the tone and/or dynamics of an audio signal.

They are used in many applications, including recording studios, public adress systems[?], sound reinforcement, broadcasting, television and film post-production.
