Minimalist trance

Becoming an emerging phenomenon at the turn of the 21st century, minimalist trance conveys a amalgamation of concepts from psychedelic trance and progressive music, pioneered by Daniel Vernunft[?] with his acclaimed Shiva Chandra[?] identity. Darker and edgier than mainstream/progressive trance, and slower, less 'busy' or more progressive than psychedelic trance, the minimalist movement owes much of its heritage from ex-techno artists. Progressive/minimalist music is often described as jovial and bouncy, appropriated at the beginning or end of a party. Currently, Denmark, Sweden and Germany hold the most renowned minimalist labels.
