Military academy

A military academy is an institute of higher learning of things military. The primary education at military academies is in the fields of military tactics and military strategy, although the term is used differently in different countries, and the amount of practical excercise involved varies.

Military academy in the United States of America also refers to institutes other than official government service academies. These private schools offer schooling in the military style to high school or college students.

Popular culture often shows parents using the threat of sending unruly children off to military schools such as these.
