Meleagrids

In Greek mythology, the Meleagrids were the daughters of Althaea and Oeneus, sisters of Meleager. When their brother died, Artemis changed them into guinea fowl[?]. (Consequently, the American turkey has the genus name Meleagris.)

They included Melanippe.

Ovid VIII, 534.
