Melanesia

Melanesia is one of the three large groups of islands in the Pacific that together form Oceania. The islands lie northeast of Australia.

The following islands and groups of islands are considered part of Melanesia:

Fiji
New Caledonia
New Guinea
Solomon Islands
Vanuatu
