Marsh gas

Marsh gas is another name for natural gas.

The different names merely indicate where the gas originates. Whereas natural gas is usually thought to originate from decayed material associated will oil fields, marsh gas originates from material decaying in swamps/marshes etc.

The primary component of marsh gas is methane.
