Marama

In Polynesian mythology, Marama is a lunar deity and a goddess of death for the Maori. She disappears occasionally (new moon) but is rejuvenating after bathing in the water of life. Kiho, the creator, made her.

In the Hervey Islands[?], Marama is a male lunar deity, who loved Ina, the goddess of light. They were married and she lives in the sky during the day and rarely sees her husband.
