Manukau, New Zealand

Redirected from Manukau

Manukau City is a city in the Greater Auckland region of New Zealand. While officially described as being a city unto itself, Manukau is a de facto part of the city of Auckland, there not being any divisions between Manukau and the rest of the city other than administrative boundaries. The area is commonly referred to as South Auckland, however this term does not possess any official recognition and does not encompass East Auckland which is within the Manukau City administrative zone. The name Manukau comes from the Maori language.

Like most of the rest of the region, Manukau is ethically diverse[?], and is home to many cultures, especially Maoris and members of Polynesian ethnicities. It is densely populated by New Zealand standards, despite having very few apartments.
