Maltese cat

The name Maltese cat is often given to solid grey cats by the uninitiated. Domestic shorthaired cats and domestic longhaired cats come in many colours, including blue, but they are not a specific breed.

There are several cat breeds that are ALWAYS grey (called 'blue' by breeders.) These are the Russian Blue cat, the Chartreaux cat[?] and the Korat cat[?].
