Magma (band)

Magma were a French progressive rock band founded in 1969 by Christian Vander[?]. Most of their songs were performed using an invented language called "Kobaian", and tell the story of the meeting of the people of the planet Kobaia with the human race. Musically inventive and imaginative, Magma made extensive use of the choral[?] format, their album Mekanik Destructiv Kommandoh being particularly reminiscent of the classical composer Carl Orff.

Later work by Magma was highly influenced by jazz saxophone player John Coltrane.

Magma's best-received albums are Attahk, Köhntarkösz and Mekanïk Destruktïw Kommandöh, in that order. Other notable works by Magma include:
