Macmillan and Company

Macmillan is a global publishing firm founded in 1843 by Daniel and Alexander Macmillan, two brothers from the Isle of Arran[?], Scotland

Until 1995 it was one of the oldest independent publishing houses.

The Macmillan group is owned by German media giant Verlagsgruppe Georg von Holtzbrinck GmbH.
