Mahon
(MaóCatalan, MahónSpanish) is a city in the east of the island of Minorca (Balearic Islands). Mahon was the capital of the island when it was a British dependency in the 18th century. It has one of the most strategically important harbours in the western Mediterranean.
The original cheese of the island is named after Mahon. So is mayonnaise.
