Native American author of Love Medicine[?], Tracks[?], The Beet Queen[?], The Bingo Palace[?], Tales of Burning Love[?], The Last Report on the Miracles at Little No Horse[?], and The Master Butcher's Singing Club[?], as well as two books of poetry: Baptism of Desire[?] and Jacklight[?]. Co-wrote "Crown of Columbus" with Michael Dorris.
