The film was written by Grover Jones[?], William Slavens McNutt[?], Waldemar Young[?], John L. Balderston[?] and Achmed Abdullah[?], from a novel by Francis Yeats-Brown[?]. It was directed by Henry Hathaway[?].

The film was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture.
