Redirected from Lemures

Larvae are the plural of larva, juvenile form of animals with indirect development. See larva

In Roman mythology, the Larvae were the spirits of dead family; they were the malignant version of the Lares. On May 9, 11, and 13, the Feast of the Lemures[?] occurred when black beans were offered to the Larvae in the hopes of making them leave; loud noises were also used to frighten them away.

Alternative: Lemures
