Leiji Matsumoto

Also known as Reiji Matsumoto (松本零士), well-known creator of anime and manga, particularly those set in the Captain Harlock[?] universe.

Matsumoto first gained prominence shortly after World War II, when he drew manga dealing with war themes. He later created his expansive Captain Harlock[?] universe, which showcased his masterful ability to create space opera. There have been numerous anime series set in this universe.

Matsumoto also supervised the creation of several music videos for the techno music group Daft Punk.
