Laurie Anderson

Laurie Anderson (born 1947) is an experimental performance artist and musican.

She performed in New York in the 1970s, and became more popularly known in 1981 with the single "O Superman". Her stage work includes a multimedia presentation inspired by Moby Dick.

She wrote the New York City article for the Encyclopędia Britannica.

Anderson has collaborated with William Burroughs, Peter Gabriel and Lou Reed. She was recently assumed the position of NASA's first artist-in-residence.
