Lansing-Ishii Agreement

The Lansing-Ishii Agreement of 1917 between the United States and Japan established an Open Door[?] policy in China, while acknowledging that Japan had special interests in China. The agreement, because of its vagueness and the resulting different interpretations, was abrogated in 1923.
