Lake Township, Macomb County, Michigan

Lake Township is a township located in Macomb County, Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 80.

Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 1.7 km² (0.6 mi²). 0.4 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is land and 1.3 km² (0.5 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 76.56% water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 80 people, 40 households, and 24 families residing in the township. The population density is 193.1/km² (511.5/mi²). There are 42 housing units at an average density of 101.4/km² (268.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 88.75% White, 1.25% African American, 2.50% Native American, 7.50% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 40 households out of which 10.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 45.0% are married couples living together, 7.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 40.0% are non-families. 32.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 20.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.00 and the average family size is 2.54.

In the township the population is spread out with 6.3% under the age of 18, 6.3% from 18 to 24, 12.5% from 25 to 44, 36.3% from 45 to 64, and 38.8% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 60 years. For every 100 females there are 81.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 74.4 males.
