Kurfürstendamm

The Kurfürstendamm is one of the most famous avenues in Berlin, Germany. The street is named for the former Kurfürsten (Electors) of the Holy Roman Empire.

During the time of the separation of East and West Berlin the Kurfürstendamm became the number one business street of West Berlin. Kurfürstendamm starts at Bahnhof Zoo (railway terminus) at the Berlin Zoo[?], near the ruins of the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church[?], and runs through Charlottenburg[?] and Wilmersdorf[?].

The Berlin nickname is 'Ku Damm' (Ku sounds like Kuh which would be in English 'Cow Avenue').
