Kunzite

Kunzite is a hard pink gemstone, a variety of Spodumene with the colour coming from manganese, the other type is green and called Hiddenite[?].

Its chemical formula is LiAlSi2O6, which can be read Lithium Aluminum Silicate.

It was named after G. F. Kunz[?], who discovered it in Connecticut, USA in 1902. It is currently mined in Brazil, USA, Canada, CIS, Mexico and Sweden.
