Kramer vs. Kramer

Kramer vs. Kramer is a 1979 film which tells the story of a divorce and its impact on everyone involved, including the couple's young son. In the film, a man's wife leaves "to find herself"; the man adjusts to living alone and caring for his son; and then the woman returns and a battle over custody of the son ensues. It stars Dustin Hoffman, Meryl Streep, Jane Alexander, Justin Henry[?], Howard Duff[?], George Coe[?] and JoBeth Williams[?].

The movie was adapted by Robert Benton[?] from the novel by Avery Corman[?], and directed by Benton.

It won Academy Awards for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Dustin Hoffman), Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Meryl Streep), Best Director, Best Picture and Best Writing, Screenplay Based on Material from Another Medium. It was nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Justin Henry), Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Jane Alexander), Best Cinematography and Best Film Editing.
