June 14 terrorist attack outside US Consulate in Karachi

On the morning of June 14 2002, a truck with a fertilizer bomb driven by a suicide driver was detonated outside the US Consulate in Karachi, Pakistan. 12 people were killed and many more injured. All were non-Americans.

It led to an increase in security in US bases throughout Pakistan.

A group called al Qanoon claimed responsibility for the attack. However, the incident is believed to have been connected with al-Qaeda and the US War on Terror.
