Johan Herman Wessel

Johan Herman Wessel (1742 - 1785), was a major name in Norwegian and Danish literature. Some of his satirical and poems are still popular. The traditional restaurant Wesselstuen in Bergen, Norway contains many of his works as decorations.

He was born and raised in Vestby, Akershus, Norway, and was the elder brother of mathemathician Caspar Wessel.
