Jock column

Jock columns, during World War II, were groups of armoured cars[?], artillery, and truck-borne infantry which were used, in Africa, by the British Army's Western Desert Force. The name comes from Lieutenant Colonel Jock Campbell[?]. These groups were used to harrass the Italian forces.
