Jerry Pournelle

Jerry Pournelle (born August 7, 1933) is an essayist and science fiction author. He holds advanced degrees in psychology, statistics, engineering, and political science.

His science fiction frequently has strong military themes, much of it written in collaboration with Larry Niven.

He wrote the lead column in Byte magazine for many years.

His political experience includes a time as Executive Assistant to the Mayor and Director of Research for the City of Los Angeles.

He is noted for his conservative politics; his critics have described him as "slightly to the right of Genghis Khan".
