JEDEC

JEDEC stands for Joint Electron Device Engineering Council and is the semiconductor engineering standardization body of the Electronic Industries Alliance (EIA[?]), a trade association that represents all areas of the electronics industry. The JEDEC was founded in 1960 as a joint activity between EIA[?] and NEMA.

The JEDEC is notable for their computer memory (RAM) standards, such as the DDR SDRAM standards. It has over 300 members, including some of the world's largest computer companies.
