Internet in art

Internet art is the newest transformation of art, incorporating the elements of graphics, video, text, and audio into a multi-sensory mix, often times in an interactive and/or collaborative setting, such as the Web. Internet art can be generated solely by HTML programming, such as form art.

Recent advancements in the exhibition of internet art have taken place at sites like http://www.theremediproject.com/ and http://www.betaspace.org/

The Internet may also be regarded as either the inspiration for, or avatar of, cyberspace, a fictional all-encompassing quasi-real environment existing within the world's computer networks.

See the works of Vernor Vinge, Bruce Sterling, Greg Egan and William Gibson.
