John Francombe (Ian) Ure (December 7, 1939) was a Scots international and Arsenal F.C.football player. After a two-year spell at Dundee[?] he transferred south of the border to play for Arsenal, eventually transferring to play for Manchester United F.C.. Many people considered his talents as a defender to be somewhat deficient. He acquired a further degree of fame as a celebrity guest on the BBC soccer quiz game Quiz Ball[?]. He is currently employed as a social worker in Kilmarnock[?].
