Herne, Belgium

Herne is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Flemish Brabant. The municipality comprises the towns of Herfelingen[?], Herne proper and Sint-Pieters-Kapelle[?]. On January 1st, 2000 Herne had a total population of 6,372 (3,142 males and 3,230 females). The total area is 44.57 km² which gives a population density of 142.97 inhabitants per km².
