Hallé Orchestra

Redirected from Halle Orchestra

The Hallé Orchestra is one of Britain's longest established orchestras, and is based in Manchester. It was founded by Charles Hallé, and for a long time gave its concerts in the Free Trade Hall[?].

The orchestra was conducted by Sir John Barbirolli who brought them to prominence over many years, and with whom they made many recordings.

In 1996 the orchestra moved into a new concert hall - the Bridgewater Hall[?], with improved facilities and acoustics.
