Haaretz

Haaretz is an Israeli newspaper, founded in 1919. It is published in Hebrew, with an abridged English edition published as an annex to International Herald Tribune issues distributed in Israel.

The newspaper's editorial line was defined by Gershom Schocken[?], who was chief editor between 1939-1990. Haaretz is to this day (2003) owned by the Schocken family.
