Gulf

A gulf or bay is a part of a lake or ocean that extends so that it is surrounded by land on three sides.

Well-known bays and gulfs (in alphabetic order) include:

Gulf of Finland
Gulf of Mexico
Persian Gulf
Red Sea
San Francisco Bay

A couple of non-gulfs (actually straits) are:

Gulf of Oman
Gulf of Aden
